wow!

It's been a really long time since I have written on this thing!
anyways! Japan is still going really awesome! I'm starting to go a little crazy though, because I cant find a job,and I do not have a hobby. Which, I really really need to do! my goal for the new year, is to have abs by summer time, so i guess the gym can be my hobby. ha ha

In a couple of hours, it will be Ben and I's, one year anniversary! I canNOT believe how fast the time has gone, but I'm so excited about it. I love everyday i am with him, it just continues to get better and better. I am truly so so lucky!

this is the first night we ever met..

we met in Gainseville Fl. because it was the city riiight in the middle of where i was, and where he was. soi t was fare that we both drove an equal distance. we met at the mall, and it was all uphill from there! when we first met, he grabbed me and kissed me. then we just walked around the mall holding hands and acting like we've met a million times before. i loved it, and I've never stopped feeling the way i did that night. we sat in my car after the mall closed, just kissed, A LOT. he he.
& then just snuggled. (yes, in the car, we squished into one seat and layed there together) until like 2am. then i had to be up at 5 to go to work. so i slept like an hour because it took 2 hours to get home. i would do it all over again though! then every weekend after that we we're with each other. every chance we got !!

this is us now...

::sigh:: i love him. lol

ok, im all done being mushy. ill try to post a lot more often. I keep forgetting & if you read this, let me know.. because I feel like its pointless to write, and no one reads it. bc i already know this stuff. no reason for me to write to myself.

kthanksbye :)

out to dinner

tonight, we went out to dinner off base, for the first time.. IT WAS AWESOME! we had to take our shoes off, and everything! we ordered what we wanted, and they brought it to us all raw, and we cooked it ourselves on these little grills they had in the tables. OH, and for a drink, i had an amaaaaazing lime green slushie! ah it was so delicious. idk what the flavor was, but it was good so i didnt care! haha

this, is a few things we picked up at a drug store.. the pink little box, is a thing of makeup remover pads. i really only got it because i knew what it was. haha and well, of course because it was pink! :) then there is some bubble gum, steak dipping sauce (we know what that is too, because it has a picture of meat being dipped into it. lol) and then there is some bread thats supposed to be super delicious. we will see!

This, is the grill we had at our table to cook our food with! pretty neat..

this is our menu! well, once of them. the other one was so big and different pages. it was kinda cool ordering, we just pointed at everything! haha

this is yen! it was pretty awesome! its big, so you have to fold it to put it in your wallet. I'll have to take a picture of the coins and show you guys that too.

this is Ben, and our friends son Tyler. he's such a cutie! and of course, is in love with Ben. lol he always takes Ben by the hand to show him his toys, and then sat by Ben for some of dinner.

exploring!

Today, my new friend Amanda and I went for a walk OFF base. (it was so exciting)I definitely found out that I like walking off base better then driving, because i feel like you can see so much more and take your time and everything. we saw a lot of really neat things (like the Japanese version of walmart. YESS!!!) and got to take a LOT of pictures..which i posted all of them on my facebook. but i was ganna share some of my favorites here too, considering some people read this that don't have a facebook.

This, is a Japanese school bus. ii about died when i saw it. lol

When Amanda and I walked into the bathroom, there were 2 stalls, one with a normal toilet, and then there was this... yes. this is intended for girls to use.. i guess you just squat? im not really sure. i didn't use it. The other toilet was normal kind of, but the seat was heated (which i thought was totally awesome considering it was 48 degrees here today) and you can pick which noise you want the toilet to make when you flush it.. lol kinda silly...

just me, standing in a street of Japan...it was such a nice day out today!

We picked up some real Japanese candy on our way home. it was actually really really good. ill def buy it again sometime. there was grape, apple, strawberry and cantaloupe flavor. and the cantaloupe tasted like LEGIT cantaloupe. it was so yummy!

I wish you guys we're here to enjoy all of this stuff with me! make sure you send me your addresses so Ben and I can send you cool stuff! The holidays are right around the corner ;)

We're here!

wow, i made this SO long ago! I made it for when we get to Japan to try to share pictures and keep in touch with everyone. I know I know, theres facebook, but i cant write as much on facebook, so this gives a bit more detail...

HERE WE GO!

we made it to Japan! We've been here since October 20th. and have been off base one time. its pretty scary being in the car! and we don't understand enough of the language to use the train yet.
so far, we both really like it! It's A LOT different from the states, but thats what makes it fun right? We're both really looking forward to experience everything! We want to try all the food we can (well, I'm not going to try to seafood, because i hate it) and travel as much as we can, and just take advantage of everything Japan has to offer! because whether we like it or not, we're here for 4 years so we're going to make the best of it!

Our hotel room is pretty decent, there's a kitchen and a bedroom, a living room, a really neat bathroom with a super deep tub. PERFECT for taking baths :) the sink is really deep too. Maybe thats a normal thing here? Who knows. It seems like we're going to have to make this hotel room as much like home as we can, it seems like we're going to be here awhile. The housing office here, from what everyone says is NOT organized what-so-ever. and we're definitely finding that out ourselves. Here's how it works.. They have Garden homes, which are kind of like duplex style houses. these are the only houses that dogs can live in. Then, they have towers. which are apartments, that look like towers. (Go figure) and no dogs are aloud in there. However, they have a tower thats called a "Cat tower" and only cats are aloud in there..well, when we first got here they offered us a tower. obviously we had to deny it because we have dogs. and there is NO way we're getting rid of them. they are our kids. its hard enough not being with them right now. and I guess since we denied the tower, we have to pay for the hotel that were staying in, out of pocket. we get NO TLF. (temporary lodging) because we turned one down. that erks me so bad, because they offered us something that they KNOW we can't live in! and if we move into a tower until a garden house is available we lose our spot on the waiting list and we go to the very bottom again. this whole process is just effed up!! oh well, I'm trying to stay calm. everything will be figured out eventually, and everything will be okay in the end. if not, its not the end. :)

I've made a few friends. and I'm pretty excited about it. I've made more friends here in a week, then i did the WHOLE time i was in Valdosta. so its really nice. I've heard that the friends you meet at overseas bases are like lifetime friends. so I'm really excited to meet some actual friends, and making memories! I'm sure it makes it easier on Ben, not only because the girls i make friends with, obviously have husbands and he can be friends with them, but also because he's not hearing me complain so much that I have no friends where we're at! haha

Im going to take pictures of our hotel, and add some pictures from our Japan trip, probably tomorrow. so check back! :)
